Underfloor Heating
Underfloor Heating is a water-filled underfloor heating system, which is installed during the construction of the floor areas in a property. It is very much a specialised field and one that Read and Errington are familiar with.
If you require any help or advice, or are considering this as an option on your project, feel free to call us and we can discuss your alternatives.
What type of building can I put it in?
The main property types that this can be applied to are new build, commercial and residential where the floor areas are undertaking complete reconstruction. However, as an alternative there is a retro-fit system available that involves fitting a 17mm insulated board, into which the pipes are bedded.
Warm water from the boiler system is circulated through continuous lengths of pipe embedded in the floor, each room has its own circuit and all circuits are connected to a distribution manifold. As each room has its own circuit it is a simple process to apply room temperature control, a thermostat is fitted in the room and connected to an electrically operated valve on the circuit serving that room.
What are the benefits of underfloor heating for your property?
- Underfloor heating delivers a more even temperature profile between floor and ceiling due to a balanced combination of radiant and convected heat
- A floor warming system gives you complete freedom to design your interiors without restrictions of radiators on walls.
- Floor warming systems are more efficient because they deliver the same results as conventional heating but operate at much lower temperatures and utilise a thermal store. This minimises cost both to you and the environment by consuming less fuel.
We employ our own team of plumbers, builders, plasterers, joiners and tilers. This enables us to complete your plumbing requirements from start to finish ensuring the installation runs smoothly and with minimal disruption.
